With the mercury rising every single day, don’t let your style suffer! Here’s a handy guide:
It can’t be every day, if there’s a particular dress code at work, but shorts will save your summer days. Only make sure it doesn’t go more than two to three inches above your knees or any lower; because shorts are right in the middle of gym. Shorts and Capri and neither of those are making it on our list of casual style this summer. How to wear them? A collared short-sleeved shirt with loafers, or a simple tee and sandals – it all depends on where you’re going and who you’re trying to impress.
Originating from the world of sports with its moisture wicking properties, a short-sleeved polo is the go-to outfit as far as summer casuals are concerned. Polos work great for weekends or casual outings. Pair them up with your shorts or your favourite pair of jeans and watch yourself breeze through the summer in style.
Short Sleeved Shirts
The short-sleeved, printed, button down is your opportunity to make big statements this summer. Florals or Aztecs on yellows, blues or reds – take a pick. Choose your colour, choose your print, button up, shades on and believe us when we say – your style boat would be sailing in waters you’ve never explored before.
This one’s right from the books. Whites and summers are like rum and Coke, it could never, ever go wrong. It feels comfortable, looks great and makes you feel awesome as long as you have it on. Also, we don’t think you need to be told about the classic white shirt/tee and blue jeans combination – and if we might suggest, pick out your oldest and most comfortable pair of jeans with a white shirt and see how wonderfully that works out.
Hot Day Accessories
Summer styles work great with a little extra accessorizing. First things first – sunglasses; there are the aviators, round frames or the square ones – pick whatever suits your face shape and wear it everywhere as long as the sun is out. Then comes headgear – the best thing about caps are you’ve never got to take them off. Try a hat if you are feeling funky and you are sure to make heads turn. When it comes to footwear, you’ve got a range of options – sandals, loafers, canvas shoes and boat shoes all work really well during the season.
Happy summer styling folks!
